WHO ARE THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST?
We are a part of the fellowship of churches known as the Restoration Movement, whose goal is to unite Christ's divided church by restoring New Testament Christianity. While many things have changed since the first century, the teachings of Jesus Christ have not. God's Word is truth
(John 17:17 
), and it saves today as surely as it did in the first century.
We go by the name Church of Christ or Christian Church to show our desire to belong to Christ's Church. Individually, we call ourselves Christians. "The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch" (Acts 11:26 ). We do not claim to be the only Christians, but Christians only.
We are a non-denominational Bible Church that anyone can come to. We have no creed but Christ and have no authority but the Bible. We are led by elders chosen from the congregation who fit the Biblical criteria for leadership. Staff members are not moved from church to church by a denominational headquarters.
We have deacons and ministry teams that carry out the Lord's work.
Our churches are independent, self-governing, congregations that cooperate in worldwide missions, benevolence, and education. We recognize Christ as the only head of His Church (Ephesians 1:22 )
Our Goal: To have unity on Biblical essentials, freedom on issues of opinion and love in all things.
HOW THE CHURCH IS FINANCED?
Wilkinson Church of Christ believes in and teaches the Biblical principle of stewardship. While we are on this earth, we are given much by the Lord. The care of these resources and talents is called stewardship. When we give money to the church, we are only returning a portion of what the Lord has given to us. Annually, members vote on a budget that helps us plan our spending.
Each Sunday, during the morning worship services, the offering plates are passed in anticipation that each member will joyfully respond to the Lord's command to give. Members are encouraged to use the tithe (10%) as a beginning place in Christian stewardship. God is faithful. As we do so, the Lord blesses us and the church is financially sound.
